Did you know it is Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Week? This week we remind Survivors that EVERYONE diagnosed with #ovariancancer should receive genetic testing per the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines. Family members of those with a genetic mutation should also be tested to identify risk and discuss prevention strategies. Learn more at the link in our bio. #knowovarian #HBOC

It's #NationalPrevivorDay! A day where we honor individuals who have the courage to seek knowledge and determine if they have an inherited gene mutation by having a genetic test done. Do you have an HBOC story you would like to share? Comment below to share today. #knowovarian #HBOC

Once you've learned your family history, your next step is to meet with a genetic counselor. They will determine whether genetic testing is appropriate and what the results may mean for you and your family. If a mutation is identified, a genetic counselor can suggest which family members should be notified and discuss preventive measures. Looking for someone local?
